Dear Pastors and Ministry Leaders

As a twenty year veteran of doing Theatrical performances I would like to introduce myself; My name is Evangelist Debra McNair, Founder, Producer and Director of New Beginnings Theater in Port Huron Michigan. I am presently in search of venues to perform my latest Gospel Play entitled “Arise People of God Arise. This Drama depicts a young woman who has gone through a plethora of overwhelming and traumatic experiences that have consumed her life. In her quest to escape these very painful afflictions, with her faith shaken, she seeks to escape this torment, she wrestles with the voices in her head that brings condemnation and encourages death as an escape. Only to realize that mercy says no!

My Theatrical Troop has been performing this Powerful and Riveting Drama throughout the State of Michigan. We are a unique group of saved and anointed men and women of God whose goal is to effect change in the Kingdom of God, our goal is to minister salvation to those who have been yoked by the vicissitudes of life, and do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and to bring healing to the wounded hearts!

The anointing that God has placed on this Drama has literally changed lives!! This Troop does not merely perform, we minister through our performance! Our ultimate goal is to have a alter call and to introduce Jesus at the end of every performance!!

We would like to bring this Production to your Church, and release this powerful word that God has given us through this Ministry platform.

Our Administrators would love to come in and talk with you about this performance if you are interested in having it come to your City or Church. We know that the hand and favor God is resting on this Ministry in this season and as vessels being used by God, for such a time as this, the outpouring of his anointing and power, through these performances will ultimately rest upon all of us, and will be life changing.

I am a 52 year old African American Female, married to (Deacon) Thomas McNair for thirty-four years, two daughters Tamara McNair, Kelly McNair-Bookrum, three grandchildren, Jasmine, Ellis Jr. and Blake. I was called to the Ministry five years ago and have been licensed and ordained to preach the Gospel. Called by many .The Barefoot Prophetess I am also a play-write, presently completing a book and have produced a Spoken Word CD entitled .Arise Woman of God Arise. God has given me a passion for ministering to women that have been broken by the storms of life and my CD's are entrenched with words that heal, deliver and set free! I have recently stepped out on faith believing God, as I introduce my new ministry to the world .Daughters of the Promise. God has given me a vision for this endeavor, to teach the word, speak the word, as well as using this for a vehicle to speak into womens lives and help them network with others that will allow them to birth their dreams and visions. My vision is to have seminars, conferences and work shops that will allow women to network with other women. My hope is to help women heal and be delivered from their past hurts and pains and walk into their destiny and promise. I hope to use this platform as and opportunity to speak a word of prophecy and deliverance into to the lives of men and women.

WATCH NIGHT SERVICES

Many of you who live or grew up in Black communities in the United States have probably heard of "Watch Night Services," the gathering of the faithful in church on New Year's Eve.

The service usually begins anywhere from 7 p.m. To 10 p.m. And ends at midnight with the entrance of the New Year. Some folks come to church first, before going out to celebrate. For others, church is the only New Year's Eve event. Like many others, I always assumed that Watch Night was a fairly standard Christian religious service -- made a bit more Afro centric because that's what happens when elements of Christianity become linked with the Black Church. Still, it seemed that predominately White Christian churches did not include Watch Night services on their calendars, but focused instead on Christmas Eve programs.
In fact, there were instances where clergy in mainline denominations wondered aloud about the propriety of linking religious services with a secular holiday like New Year's Eve.

 Night Watch

However, there is a reason for the importance of New Year's Eve services in African American congregations.
The Watch Night Services in Black communities that we celebrate today can be traced back to gatherings on December 31, 1862, also known as "Freedom's Eve." On that night, Blacks came together in churches and private homes all across the nation, anxiously awaiting news that the Emancipation Proclamation actually had become law. Then, at the stroke of midnight, it was January 1, 1863, and all slaves in the Confederate States were declared legally free .
When the news was received, there were prayers, shouts and songs of joy as people fell to their knees and thanked God. Black folks have gathered in churches annually on New Year's Eve ever since, praising God for bringing us safely through another year.

It's been 145 years since that first Freedom's Eve and many of us were never taught the African American history of Watch Night, but tradition still brings us together at this time every year to celebrate
"how we got over."
PS- Pass this information on so we can educate more of our Family and Friends about our History!
